As an essential part of the New Life Dream Team family, you have a responsibility to develop and exhibit mature Christian behavior. This should be the basic premise of your desire to participate in a servant-leader position here at New Life.
While serving the Body of Christ as a servant-leader at New Life, you pledge to present a good appearance at all times. In both attire and behavior, you should strive to demonstrate Biblical standards in all situations.

As Christians, the way we present ourselves to others is of vital importance to the way others perceive Christ. Our conduct should never be an embarrassment to Christ, but should exemplify the best qualities of a mature believer and servant leader.

New Life's servant-leaders are to maintain:
A consistent life of Bible reading and prayer.
Regular attendance of New Life's services.
Regular support of New Life by tithing.
Participation in church events.

New Life's servant-leaders are to refrain from such things as:
profanity
indulging in much wine or other alcoholic beverages
illegal drugs
pornography
sexual immorality
all behaviors which might cause Christ to grieve and others to stumble

By providing an example in speech and action, we encourage others to grow in Christ and become servant-leaders themselves. This is a way of life measured by the heart and commitment of each Dream Teamer in the New Life family. We should regard it as an essential part of our development, not as in imposition or restriction.

QUALIFICATIONS & LEADERSHIP COMMITMENT OF A DREAM TEAM MEMBER
"The same goes for those who want to be servants in the church; serious, not deceitful, not too free with the bottle, not win it for what they can get out of it. They must be reverent before the mystery of the faith, not using their position to try to run things. Let them prove themselves first. If they show they can do it, take them on. No exceptions are to be made for women-same qualifications, serious, dependable, not sharp-tongued, not overfond of wine. Servants in the church are to be committed to their spouses, attentive to their own children, and diligent in looking after their own affairs. Those who do this servant work will come to be highly respected, a real credit to this Jesus-faith. 1 Timothy 3:8-13 (MSG)

A DREAM TEAM MEMBER:
Is sincere, worthy of respect, and of good reputation.
Tithes and attends regularly at New Life.
Has a genuine desire to serve and minister to other people.
Follows the guidelines required by the specific ministry team.
Abides by the Dream Team Honor Code.

In the spirit of encouraging our brothers and sisters who may struggle with addiction, it is New Life's desire to provide safe environments that cannot be misconstrued as promoting the use or abuse of alcohol. This also pertains to sensitivity of what is posted on social media regarding alcohol.

We do not post pictures posing with or consuming alcohol on any social platforms.

We do not want to be a stumbling block for anyone we are leading, who may deal with addiction or may have had previous negative experiences involving alcohol.

This desire to put another first is in keeping with Romans 14:13, "Make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.” And, to live according toJesus' own words in Matthew 22:39, "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Therefore, it is the Leader's responsibility that any gathering (before, during, or after) that is associated with any of the following be alcohol free:
* New Life Group
* Dream Team/Coaches/Directors Meeting
* Any New Life Event

Please contact a member of the Pastoral Team if you have any questions or need further clarification. In the event that a leader compromises this Honor Code, New Life's Pastoral Team will determine the course of action on a case-by-case basis.
